This headstone photo was taken in 1986 and is quite hard to read. It says in part:- …. In loving Memory of William Tress who died on February 25th 1862? aged 64 yrs, also Mary wife of the above, who died on November 6th 1875? aged 67 yrs also Jesse son of the above who died on March 21st 1882 aged 51yrs also2 children who died in their infancy also George son ot the above who was cut to pieces by an express train whilst attempting to cross at the level crossing near Newington on June 6th 1892 aged 60 yrs. also Mary Ann Andrews daughter of the above who departed this life May 24th? 1893 aged 55 yrs also Caroline………the …………..and wife of …Stephen Terry Tong who died March 29th 1897 aged 55 yrs interred in Bexley Heath Cemetery.
The above transcription is written just as transcribed to me, it is noted that some of lower part of the facing of the headstone is missing and it is not clear whether it is Caroline or her husband Stephen T.Tong who is interred in Bexley Heath cemetery.
